I’ve spent 2 years doing a BTEC in Interactive Multimedia and I’m currently doing an Art Foundation course. When I get chance I do freelance design in my own time, so far I’ve only worked in Music Advertising, designing flyers and posters for bands, mainly in the Hardcore and Pop Punk scene which I’m very involved in. I like to work in fine liners and Illustrator mostly. I also enjoy using Photoshop and mixed media. Altered images, handmade or by computer I find fascinating. I’ve recently took much more of an interest in typography since starting Foundation Art as I have had chance to explore much further into graphic design than I had previously.
I’d like to go into Graphic Design to enhance my skills in this subject as it’s what I enjoy doing. I want to continue experimenting while improving my current work. I’d be interested in applying my illustrations to screen printing as I’ve never used this method before. While on the course I hope to meet other creative people who are interested in different subjects, I’d like to apply what I’ve learnt and possibly design for students holding events, anything that I could use to further my talents. After completing the course I’d like to join a studio or become a freelance designer, possibly both. My biggest aim in life would be to create work that in some way may influence other people’s lives. That would make me incredibly happy knowing that I had changed someone’s life in even the littlest way and had made an impact upon them with my work.
